Terms of Service
Effective Date: August 18, 2026
Also see our Privacy Policy.
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Docusnap, including the Docusnap website, applications, PDF-processing functionality, subscriptions, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).
Docusnap is operated by Simply Tech, LLC (“Docusnap,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
By creating an account, accessing the Service, or purchasing a subscription, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
Docusnap provides tools for working with PDF documents.
Features may include:
- viewing PDFs;
- editing existing PDF text;
- adding text;
- adding images;
- organizing pages;
- deleting pages;
- rotating pages;
- duplicating pages;
- extracting pages;
- inserting PDFs;
- combining PDFs;
- compressing PDFs;
- storing Documents;
- maintaining Versions;
- restoring eligible Versions;
- working with password-protected PDFs;
- other document-processing features that we may introduce.
Features and limits may depend on your subscription Plan.
2. Accounts
You may need an account to use some or all Docusnap features.
You agree to:
- provide accurate account information;
- keep your account credentials secure;
- promptly notify us if you believe your account has been compromised;
- remain responsible for activity conducted through your account unless prohibited by law.
You may not share or misuse account credentials in a manner that circumvents Docusnap Plan limits or security controls.
3. Workspaces
Documents and subscription usage may be associated with a Docusnap Workspace.
For personal accounts, your Workspace is generally associated with your individual account.
Docusnap may introduce shared or business Workspaces in the future.
Features available to a Workspace depend on its current Plan.
4. Your Documents
You retain ownership of PDFs, images, text, and other content that you upload to Docusnap (“User Content”).
These Terms do not transfer ownership of your User Content to Docusnap.
You grant Docusnap a limited, non-exclusive license to host, copy, process, modify, transmit, render, and otherwise use User Content solely as reasonably necessary to:
- provide the Service;
- perform operations you request;
- maintain document Versions and Working State;
- provide storage;
- protect and operate the Service;
- comply with law.
This license ends when the applicable content is deleted, except to the extent limited retention is technically or legally necessary.
5. Your Responsibilities for User Content
You represent that you have the rights and authority necessary to upload and process User Content using Docusnap.
You may not use Docusnap to:
- infringe intellectual-property rights;
- violate privacy or confidentiality rights;
- unlawfully process another person's information;
- distribute malicious files or software;
- facilitate fraud;
- violate applicable law;
- interfere with Docusnap's systems or security;
- circumvent access restrictions;
- attempt unauthorized access to another user's Workspace or Documents.
You are responsible for ensuring that your use of Docusnap complies with laws, contracts, confidentiality obligations, professional duties, and industry requirements applicable to you.
6. PDF Editing Limitations
PDF is a complex document format and files can be generated by many different applications.
Docusnap attempts to preserve layout and formatting where practical, but we do not guarantee that every PDF can be edited with perfect visual fidelity.
For example:
- fonts may be unavailable or embedded in unusual ways;
- text may consist of individually positioned characters;
- text may have been converted to outlines;
- documents may contain complex graphics;
- scanned pages may contain no editable native text;
- replacement text may not fit the original area;
- certain PDF features may not be supported.
You are responsible for reviewing the resulting PDF before relying on, distributing, filing, signing, or sending it.
7. Scanned Documents
Docusnap may identify pages that contain no usable native PDF text as scanned or image-based pages.
Existing text on those pages may not be editable unless an OCR or similar feature is available.
Other Docusnap functions may remain available, including:
- adding text;
- adding images;
- page organization;
- combining;
- insertion;
- compression.
8. Redaction
Unless a Docusnap feature is expressly identified as secure redaction, visual deletion, covering, replacement, whiteout, or similar editing functionality should not be treated as guaranteed permanent removal of underlying information.
Do not use ordinary text editing or visual covering as a substitute for secure redaction where permanent removal is legally, professionally, or contractually required.
9. Document Versions
Docusnap may maintain multiple Versions of a Document.
Your available history depends on your Plan.
The Service may distinguish between:
- an Original Version;
- a Current Version;
- historical Versions;
- an in-progress Working State.
Older Versions may be automatically removed when your Plan's history limit is exceeded.
The Original and Current Version may receive different retention treatment from intermediate Versions.
You are responsible for independently maintaining copies of documents that you are legally or professionally required to preserve.
Docusnap is not intended to serve as your sole records-retention or archival system unless we expressly agree otherwise.
10. Document Retention and Deletion
Docusnap may allow you to choose a retention policy for Documents.
Depending on the selected policy, Documents may be permanently destroyed after a specified period or event.
If you permanently delete a Document, Docusnap may permanently remove:
- the Original;
- Current Version;
- historical Versions;
- Working State;
- associated document content.
Permanent deletion is generally not reversible.
You are responsible for downloading any files you wish to preserve before deletion or expiration.
11. Password-Protected PDFs
Docusnap may support password-protected PDFs.
You are responsible for:
- having lawful authority to access the PDF;
- providing the correct password;
- remembering passwords necessary to reopen protected files.
Docusnap may not be able to recover a forgotten PDF password.
You may not use Docusnap to defeat encryption or access controls on documents that you are not authorized to access.
12. Free and Paid Plans
Docusnap may offer Plans such as:
- Free;
- Pro;
- other paid or business Plans.
Plan features may differ based on factors such as:
- maximum file size;
- monthly pages processed;
- storage;
- number of Documents;
- Version-history depth;
- processing capacity;
- premium features.
Current limits and pricing will be presented on the Service or during checkout.
We may change Plan features or prices prospectively.
Material pricing changes to an existing recurring subscription will be communicated as required by applicable law.
13. Subscriptions
Paid Docusnap Plans are generally offered as recurring subscriptions.
By purchasing a recurring subscription, you authorize us and our payment processor to charge the applicable subscription fees and taxes to your selected payment method on a recurring basis until the subscription is canceled.
Your billing interval and price will be shown before purchase.
Annual paid Plans may include a 5-day trial, shown at checkout. Monthly paid Plans are charged at subscribe time and do not include that trial. During a trial, the Workspace has the paid Plan's features. A payment method is collected at subscribe time. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the subscription fee is charged to that payment method and the subscription then renews as described below.
14. Automatic Renewal
Unless otherwise stated at checkout, paid subscriptions automatically renew for successive billing periods until canceled.
You authorize recurring charges for each renewal.
You are responsible for canceling before your next renewal if you do not want the subscription to renew.
15. Cancellation
You may cancel a paid subscription through the available Docusnap billing controls or Stripe customer billing portal, if provided.
Unless otherwise specified:
- cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period;
- you may continue using paid features until that period ends;
- your Workspace may then move to the Free Plan;
- Free Plan storage, processing, history, and feature limits may then apply.
Before your downgrade becomes effective, you are responsible for downloading or removing content that would exceed Free Plan limits.
We may limit creation of new content when your Workspace exceeds the limits of its new Plan.
16. Refund Policy
Except where required by law or expressly stated otherwise, subscription fees are non-refundable once charged.
Canceling a subscription prevents future renewals but does not automatically generate a refund for the current billing period.
However, if you believe you were charged incorrectly, experienced duplicate billing, or encountered an exceptional technical issue materially preventing use of a paid feature, contact us at [email protected].
We may issue full or partial refunds at our discretion where permitted by law.
Nothing in this section limits refund rights that cannot legally be waived.
17. Failed Payments
If a subscription payment fails, we or our payment provider may:
- retry the payment;
- notify you;
- restrict paid features;
- downgrade the Workspace;
- cancel or suspend the paid subscription.
Your documents remain subject to applicable account, Plan, storage, and retention rules.
18. Taxes
Prices may exclude applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.
You are responsible for taxes associated with your purchase except taxes imposed on Docusnap's income.
Where required, applicable taxes may be calculated and collected during checkout.
19. Payment Processing
Payment processing may be provided by Stripe.
Your use of Stripe-hosted payment functionality may also be subject to Stripe's applicable terms and privacy practices.
Docusnap does not control payment networks, banks, or payment methods operated by third parties.
20. Usage Limits
Plans may include limits such as:
- storage capacity;
- file size;
- processed pages;
- number of Documents;
- processing activity;
- history depth.
When a limit is reached, Docusnap may refuse additional operations until you:
- reduce usage;
- delete Documents;
- wait for a usage period to reset;
- upgrade your Plan.
Docusnap is not required to process operations beyond the applicable Plan limits.
21. Prohibited Uses
You may not:
- use Docusnap for unlawful purposes;
- upload malware;
- attack or probe our infrastructure;
- bypass billing or usage limits;
- scrape or reverse engineer the Service except where expressly permitted by law;
- access another user's information without authorization;
- use automated systems in a manner that materially disrupts the Service;
- use Docusnap to facilitate fraud or deception;
- process content that you are legally prohibited from possessing or processing.
We may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary to protect the Service or comply with law.
22. Intellectual Property
Docusnap, including its software, design, trademarks, branding, interfaces, and underlying technology, is owned by Simply Tech, LLC or its licensors.
Except for the limited rights necessary to use the Service, these Terms do not grant you ownership of Docusnap intellectual property.
“Docusnap” and associated logos may be trademarks of Simply Tech, LLC.
23. Feedback
If you voluntarily provide product ideas, suggestions, or feedback, you grant us permission to use that feedback without restriction or compensation, provided we do not thereby obtain ownership of your User Content.
24. Availability and Changes
We aim to provide a reliable Service but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
We may:
- maintain or update the Service;
- modify features;
- fix defects;
- discontinue features;
- impose reasonable technical limits;
- suspend functionality where necessary for security or legal reasons.
We will use reasonable efforts to avoid materially disrupting paid users without notice where practical.
25. Beta and Experimental Features
Some Docusnap functionality may be identified as:
- beta;
- preview;
- experimental;
- early access.
Such features may be less reliable, change substantially, or be discontinued.
Do not rely on experimental functionality for critical legal, regulatory, or archival workflows without independently verifying the result.
26. No Professional Advice
Docusnap is document software.
It does not provide:
- legal advice;
- accounting advice;
- tax advice;
- financial advice;
- professional document review.
Editing a legal, financial, engineering, medical, or other professional document using Docusnap does not mean Docusnap has reviewed or approved its contents.
27. Backups
Although Docusnap may maintain Versions or recovery features, you remain responsible for maintaining independent copies of important documents.
Version history is a productivity feature, not a guaranteed backup or archival service.
28. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available.”
We disclaim warranties not expressly provided in these Terms, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the extent permitted by law.
We do not warrant that:
- every PDF will render or edit perfectly;
- document formatting will always be preserved;
- compression will achieve a particular size reduction;
- the Service will always be uninterrupted;
- every file will be recoverable.
Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot legally be excluded.
29. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Simply Tech, LLC and its affiliates, officers, employees, and contractors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from use of the Service.
This includes, where legally permitted, loss of:
- profits;
- business;
- data;
- documents;
- opportunities;
- goodwill.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of:
- the amounts you paid to Docusnap during the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or
- US $100.
This limitation does not apply where applicable law prohibits it.
30. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Simply Tech, LLC and its affiliates, officers, employees, and contractors from claims arising from:
- your unlawful use of Docusnap;
- your User Content;
- your violation of these Terms;
- your infringement of another person's rights.
This section does not require indemnification to the extent a claim results from Docusnap's own unlawful conduct.
31. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access where reasonably necessary because of:
- violation of these Terms;
- fraudulent activity;
- security threats;
- nonpayment;
- misuse of the Service;
- legal requirements.
You may stop using Docusnap at any time.
Account deletion may permanently destroy your Workspace and Documents.
32. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
If a change materially affects existing paid subscriptions, we may provide notice through the Service, by email, or another reasonable method.
Continued use after the effective date of revised Terms constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
33. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles, except where applicable consumer law requires otherwise.
34. Venue
Unless applicable law provides otherwise, disputes arising out of these Terms or the Service will be brought in the state or federal courts located in:
Harris County, Texas, United States
and the parties consent to jurisdiction in those courts.
35. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect to the extent permitted by law.
36. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any additional terms presented for a specific feature or Plan, constitute the agreement between you and Docusnap regarding the Service.
